College of Engineering Scholarships
- Application Filing Period: March 1 – 31.
- Award decision and notifications by end of April.
- Submit one application to be considered for all eligible scholarships.

- Babbage Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to first-year freshmen and transfer students.
The John D. Babbage Scholarship Fund enables outstanding students in the sciences to attend UCR's Bourns College of Engineering. Recipients are designated Babbage Scholars. - BCoE Alumni Scholarship (Eric Butler)
Who may apply: Open to undergraduate students in good standing.
This scholarship tends to recognize high achieving students who demonstrate excellence academically and in their career preparation. - BCoE - College Office of Special Programs
Who may apply: Open to undergraduate students in good standing.
This scholarship tends to recognize high achieving students who demonstrate excellence academically and in their career preparation. - Bilderback Scholarship
Who may apply:Open to undergraduate students in Bioengineering.
In 2003, Fran Bilderback established the Alexander Scott Bilderback Endowed Scholarship to support students in the Bourns College of Engineering. - Bourns' Foundation Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to undergraduate students in good standing with financial need.
The Bourns Foundation Engineering Scholarship provides financial assistance to students Bourns College of Engineering to defray costs associated with student registration and fees. - Hackwood Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to entering transfer students or first-time transfers from community college.
This scholarship tends to recognize high achieving students who demonstrate excellence academically and in their career preparation. - Gartske Memorial Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to entering freshmen students, with 3.0 – 3.25 GPA.
Gartzke Memorial Scholarships are awarded to entering freshman with high academic quality and potential, who have financial need. - National Science Foundation Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to undergraduate students with a 2.7 cum GPA or better, who are eligible for federal student aid.
This will provide financial support to promising but needy students and improve retention by enhancing academic experiences, preparedness, and a sense of community and belonging among students in the Bourns College of Engineering. - Various Donor Scholarships
Who may apply: These scholarships tend to recognize high achieving students who demonstrate excellence academically and in their career preparation.
Scholarships from Departments at the Bourns College
- Ford Motor Company Scholarship
Who may apply: Candidates should have, or plan to have, a working relationship with CE-CERT.
The scholarship was established to encourage and aid students in pursuit of careers in engineering. - Guthrie Research Scholarship
Who may apply: Students are selected based upon review of written research papers on projects conducted at CE-CERT.
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage academic excellence and critical thinking. - Krieger and Steward Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to Environmental Engineering students. Selection based on academic achievement and career potential in the engineering profession, character, and financial need.
This scholarship is specifically for students in the Environmental Engineering program in the Bourns College of Engineering. Preference is given to students with interest in water resources (supply, quality, use, reuse) engineering. - Robert Nichols Yakel Scholarship
Who may apply: Open to juniors in Mechanical Engineering.

UCR Scholarships Specifically for Engineering Students
- Mark and Pamela Rubin Scholarship
Who may apply: The scholarship is awarded to graduating high school students, who at the time resided in the Mission Grove area.
This scholarship supports UC Riverside students living in the Mission Grove area of the City of Riverside. - The Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. Scholarship
This scholarship targets business, science and engineering majors. The recipient must be able to contribute 30 hours of community service per quarter to the Alumni Association during the academic year.
